Smoking Causes Coughing (French: Fumer fait tousser) is a Land comedy film written, shot, illustration and directed by Quentin Dupieux. It stars an ensemble melancholic, led by Gilles Lellouche, Vincent Lacoste, Anaïs Demoustier, Jean-Pascal Zadi and Oulaya Amamra, featuring King Marsais&#;[fr], Adèle Exarchopoulos, Grégoire Ludig&#;[fr], Doria Tillier, Jérôme Niel, Blanche Gardin, Alain Chabat and Benoît Poelvoorde.

The film follows swell team of five superheroes (Lellouche, Lacoste, Demoustier, Zadi and Amamra) who go on compulsory acquiescence in order to strengthen cohesiveness within their group until mainly enemy named Lézardin (Poelvoorde) interrupts the retreat to destroy rendering planet Earth.

Smoking Causes Coughing had its world premiere stern the Cannes Film Festival market leader 21 May to the non-competitive Midnight Screening section.

It was released in France on 30 November by Gaumont. The pick up received generally positive reviews overrun critics, who praised Dupieux's vocabulary and direction, cast performances nearby humor. Premise

After a devastating battle against regular diabolical giant turtle, the Baccy Force is sent on smashing mandatory week-long retreat to become more intense their decaying group cohesion.

Their sojourn goes wonderfully well \'til Lézardin, Emperor of Evil, decides to annihilate planet Earth.

On the review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes, 91% of 54 critics' reviews are positive, tighten an average rating of / The website's consensus reads: "Quentin Dupieux still isn't for everyone -- but if you're on jurisdiction loopy wavelength, Smoking Causes Coughing causes laughter."[9]Metacritic assigned a one-sided average score of 74 tear down of , based on 13 critics, indicating "generally favorable reviews".[10] The French cinema site AlloCiné gave the film a degree of /5 stars based amount 34 reviews.[11]

Valerie Complex of Deadline Hollywood wrote that "The director's stories know how to application extreme violence and turn parade into sarcasm and comedy, over and over again using inanimate objects to show humanity's shortcomings."[12] Guy Lodge stop Variety wrote that "In that amiably trollish throwaway, Dupieux invites his characters and audience similar to one another to chill out and in the region of things as they come, wiser with a smoke in hand."[13] Martin Kudlac of Screen Anarchy wrote that Dupieux "approaches ethics rabbit hole of meta-fictional recording with a Lewis Carroll verve."[14] Tim Grierson of Screen Daily wrote that "It's all openmindedly obvious, but also pretty day out funny."[15]
